Research Together 2026
Maynooth University held a ‘Research Together 2026’ event on Monday the 19th of October as part of research week in the University. The event was titled: ‘Building relationships and partnering on health-focused funding applications’. The event was co-designed and co-produced with Health Research Charities Ireland and The Wheel. The event reflected the shared commitment to building meaningful connections between researchers, charities/civil society organisations and other partners, and enabling research that responds to the needs and priorities of people and communities.

Parkinson’s Ireland, Epilepsy Ireland and Muscular Dystrophy Ireland, as 3 charities involved in research, each presented on their organisation’s research needs, how the organisations support research and what a good partnership and meaningful involvement looks like. This follows a successful period for research in Parkinson’s Ireland following an investment of over €388k in two Parkinson’s research projects, co funded by Parkinson’s Ireland and the Health Research Board, under the HRCI/HRB Joint Funding Scheme.
