The Cork branch represents people living with Parkinson’s Disease in Cork city and county.

Our ultimate ambition is to drive better care, treatments and quality of life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s by developing a network of local support groups and campaigning for community-based Parkinson’s nurses.

NEW ACTIVITY CLASSES IN WEST CORK

With the help of HQ Parkinson’s Ireland, the Cork Branch is delighted to launch the following classes for people affected by Parkinson’s in West Cork:


Bantry

  • Sing for Your Life
    🗓 Mondays, 10:30 – 12:00

  • Reformer Pilates (Physio-led)

  • All other activity classes and coffee mornings continue as per last year.

  • Exceptions:

    • No Ballinlough Tai Chi (unless interest is expressed)

Classes and Coffee Mornings

Services in the Cork area for members of Parkinson’s Ireland Cork Branch:

Our Cork branch are facilitating a range of new activity classes from September.

These include Tai Chi on Mondays in Glounthaune Community Centre at 2pm and in Ballinlough Canon Horgan Youth Centre (behind the scout hall, Balllinlough Road) from 5.45 to 7.00pm.

There will also be Chair Yoga in Innishannon GAA hall on Tuesdays, from 12.00 to 12:50pm,

Dance for Parkinson’s class has moved to Thursdays, from 11:30am to 12:30pm in Ardfallen House, parking by Douglas swimming pool. Plenty of room for more to join!

Perpetual Motion Choir

Every Monday at 7.30pm – 9pm (excluding Bank Holidays) at the Lough Parish Centre on the grounds of the Lough Church.

All are welcome.

Set Dancing Classes

Held on Tuesdays from 2.00pm – 3.15pm at the Marian Hall, Ballinhassig.

All are welcome.

Kinsale Support Group

A meeting of the Kinsale Parkinson’s Support Group is held on the third Thursday of every month from 11.00 am – 12:30pm in The Friary Centre, Kinsale.

Coffee Morning Talbot Hotel (Formerly Oriel House Hotel) Ballincollig

Time: 11am  to 12.30pm, the second Monday of every month.

Everyone is welcome.

Coffee morning Kingsley Hotel

Taking place on the last Monday of each month from 10.30am to 11.15am, followed by a short walk for anyone interested. Care Partners, family members, friends and small dogs welcome!

Silversprings Clayton Hotel

Taking place on the last Wednesday of each month from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm. Younger Members with Early onset PD and families are particularly welcome.
