Chicken – children’s book in both Irish and English

PAI are delighted to launch a new book by Mairead Maguire from Limerick! Mairead’s first teaching job was at St Joesph’s School, Lisnagry in Limerick where she taught special needs children. After that she pursued her vocation by teaching  the younger children of Corbally at Scoil Ide, Limerick for thirty years until her retirement in early 2009. Mairead was then diagnosed with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA), a form of Parkinsonism,  which is a very rare neurological disorder.

This book is beautifully illustrated with bright vibrant images. The print and language is suitable for 7-8 year olds to read on their own whilst the story line is appropriate even for the younger reader to have the story read out to them by a parent/Grandparent. A story that is sure to capture the imagination of both reader and listener.

The book is available to purchase in both Irish and English. We are also thrilled to announce that 100% of all profits raised from the books sold through the Parkinson’s Association will go directly to the Parkinson’s  Association.
