NAI Pre-Budget Submission Launch

Parkinson’s Ireland was delighted to join the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) at the launch of their pre-budget submission on Tuesday, June 24th in Buswells Hotel, attended by elected members from across affected health regions, NAI members, and patient advocates.

In its pre-budget submission, the NAI is calling for investment in 4 community neurorehabilitation teams in the North West, South East, North Dublin and the Midlands, in order to deliver on the Programme for Government commitment to complete the rollout of community neuro-rehabilitation teams across the country. The North West, South East, North Dublin and the Midlands have received no funding to date for teams promised in the 2019 National Implementation Framework for the Neuro-rehabilitation Strategy.

Parkinson’s Ireland work closely with the NAI to support and advocate for their pre-budget asks. Parkinson’s Ireland also calls for the funding allocated in last year’s budget to establish neurological services in 5 additional regional hospitals to be used as soon as possible, and for recruitment of the associated posts to be fast tracked.

Parkinson’s Ireland also wants to take the opportunity to thank Bernadette Myler-Driscoll as the advocate for the South East Region and for all the hard work you do for our members there. We also recognise and thank all nominated volunteers for the NAI across this campaign.
