Ireland’s EU Presidency
Ireland takes the Presidency of the Council of the EU on the 1st of July. Parkinson’s Europe joined forces with Parkinson’s Ireland and sent a joint letter to officials in the Irish government and Ireland’s Permanent Representation to the European Union.
The letter outlined the current situation of Parkinson’s in Europe and why it is essential that the Irish Presidency of the Council take action on this issue. Recipients included Ministers and Senior Civil Servants at the Department of Health and Children, Disability and Equality, as well as the health spokespeople of every political party and the chair people of the Oireachtas Committees on Health and Disability Matters.
