We are celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities this Sunday, the 3rd of December.
This year’s theme is: “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world.”
This theme reflects the need for innovative and inclusive solutions to address the challenges and opportunities faced by disabled people in a sustainable and resilient society.
The observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities coincides with the #PurpleLights campaign each year in Ireland. The Purple Lights campaign sees Government buildings local and national, major companies, civic and educational institutions turning purple to celebrate the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities each year and to shine a spotlight on disability.
