Cillian takes on the Wicklow Way without sleep for Parkinson’s Ireland

On 26 September, Cillian will take on a serious challenge: hiking the entire Wicklow Way from start to finish, without stopping for sleep, all to raise funds for Parkinson’s Ireland.

The challenge will see Cillian take on the Wicklow Way through the night and into the following day, putting both physical and mental endurance to the test.

“It’s going to be tough, and maybe a little bit mad,” says Cillian. “But Parkinson’s Ireland is an organisation that means a huge amount to both me and my family.”

For Cillian, the challenge is about more than completing a long-distance hike. It is an opportunity to support an organisation that has a personal significance to his family while raising funds to support the work of Parkinson’s Ireland.

“If I can push myself through this and raise some money along the way, then it will all be worth it.”

The Wicklow Way is Ireland’s oldest waymarked long-distance walking route, stretching from south Dublin through the Wicklow Mountains and onwards towards Clonegal in County Carlow.

Taking on the full route in one continuous effort will require determination, preparation and plenty of stamina. The decision to complete it without sleeping adds another significant challenge, as fatigue will become an increasing factor as the hours go on.

We’ll be following Cillian’s challenge and cheering him on as he takes on the Wicklow Way in support of Parkinson’s Ireland.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can help Parkinson’s Ireland continue to provide information, support and services to people living with Parkinson’s and their families across Ireland.

Good luck, Cillian, and thank you for taking on this incredible challenge in support of Parkinson’s Ireland!
