Dublin Branch Meeting and AGM

The Dublin Branch of Parkinson’s Ireland will hold its next branch meeting and Annual General Meeting on Saturday 26 September at the Bonnington Hotel.

We hope to see as many members as possible attend.

AGM and presentation

The AGM will begin at 2:30pm, followed at 3pm by a presentation from Parkinson’s Ireland Counselling Psychotherapist Kathleen Moore-Avila.

What Supports Us in Finding Continuity of Self? Understanding Identity and Loss Following a Parkinson’s Diagnosis

The talk will briefly explore the concept of identity, why it is important, and how a Parkinson’s diagnosis can affect a person’s sense of self.

Kathleen will also look at key theories of grief and loss, and reflect on ways of adapting to change while maintaining meaning, purpose and connection.

The presentation will consider how people can develop a renewed understanding of themselves, their relationships and their place in the world following a Parkinson’s diagnosis.

A Q&A session will follow the presentation, with tea and coffee served from approximately 4:30pm.
