The PARKIE (Parkinson’s community Awareness of Research; emphasis on Knowledge and Information Exchange) Survey
“The PARKIE (Parkinson’s community Awareness of Research; emphasis on Knowledge and Information Exchange) survey is being conducted by Trinity College Dublin, the NAI, and EOPD Ireland.
This survey is targeted toward people with Parkinson’s living in Ireland.
The PARKIE survey is centred around investigating how much people with Parkinson’s know about their condition and which areas of research they are interested in. In addition to this, this survey wishes to discover where people with Parkinson’s get their information and who they listen to and discuss their condition with. Finally, the survey wishes to uncover what people with Parkinson’s do to manage their condition and increase their quality of life.
Ultimately speaking, the goal of the survey is to feed into a free half-day conference for people with Parkinson’s in Ireland to share knowledge about Parkinson’s research and living with Parkinson’s. This conference will consist of lectures, workshops, and interactive activities and will take place in Dublin in the latter half of 2023.
We would like to thank you in advance for your participation in this survey and would welcome any questions you have about the survey (please contact Fiachra O’Higgins (PARKIE @tcd.ie).”
