Marathon Runner, Keelin Skillington from Cork raises €4.9K for Parkinson’s & sets new PB of 3 Hours & 30 Mins!

Amazing day for Corkman, Keelin Skillington who has raised nearly €5k for Parkinson’s Ireland by running a solo marathon in Glanmire !

Keelin completed the marathon in 3 hours 30 mins shattering his 4 hour goal to raised funds for Parkinsons Ireland. Keelin got air time on Cork’s 96FM and Corks RedFM and was on the front page of Glanmire’s local newspaper. As part of his fundraising effort, he got himself promoted on numerous Facebook groups and was delighted with the amount raised, which included donations from over 200 people. Keelin has a particular interest in Parkinson’s as his grandfather lives with the condition.

Keelin sends his thanks to all the people who shared the fundraiser ,who sent him supportive messages and showed up on the day to cheer him on especially his family that travelled from a different county. Other contributors on the day included Ryan’s SuperValu Glanmire who provided sandwich’s for the day and Uparty for providing balloons for the finish line.

Keelin also sent a big thanks to the girls from Watergrasshill AC , Jamie Hayes and Darren McDonald for pacing him through the run.
