The EPDA would be most grateful for your help with a European funded project, that EPDA is a partner of.

REMPARK (Personal Health Device for the REMote and Autonomous Management of PARKinson's Disease) is a project that aims to develop a gait guidance system that will help people with Parkinson´s in real time carry out their daily activities.

This will involve developing a wearable monitoring system to identify in real time the motor status of people with Parkinson´s, and will evaluate ON/OFF/Dyskinesia status and freezing of gait whilst walking during daily activities. The system will incorporate a number of sensors including a device the size of a mobile phone, fitted at the waist that will detect the changes in the wearers movements and will determine if they are ON/OFF/Dyskinetic or frozen. The device will then carry out an action that will correct the change.

With your help in encouraging your members to complete this survey the REMPARK team will be able to determine what major mobility issues they may have, enabling the team to identify the strategies to improve gait difficulties.

The survey is anonymous but to ensure that each person only completes the survey once, each person is asked to register their email address from the link below. Once they have submitted their email address, a unique code will be sent to them enabling them to access the online survey itself.

This survey is now open and closes on Wednesday 29th February 2012. If you have any questions about the survey, please visit the EPDA website: www.epda.eu.com/rempark
