Launch of 1st Parkinson's Awareness Week 2011

The launch will be addressed by our Vice Chairperon, Una Anderson Ryan and then our CEO, Joe Lynch who will be giving a brief outline of our work and services with Mr. Michael Carruth, Olympic Gold Medallist and Shay Healy, Eurovision winner and TV personality, also in attendance.

Parkinson’s disease affects over 8,000 people in Ireland and our association feels that raising awareness of the disease and the services that we provide are critical to the well being of people with Parkinson’s. Our Branches will be fundraising and hosting information meetings throughout the country between the 26^th and 30^th of April. This launch marks a new era for the association and will be of considerable assistance to us in raising the public profile of the association and the prevalence of Parkinson's in Ireland. A press release will be issued shortly and copies will be available on the day of the launch.
